AM Pierce & Associates is in search for a Senior Engineer to support our government customer at Navy Yard, Washington, DC.
Duties/Responsibilities
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following items:
- Provide systems engineering analysis, reviews and recommendations related to the integration and interoperability of ships and interdependent systems. Review acquisition, requirements and engineering documentation to identify, analyze and document interdependencies. Documents include but are not limited to Acquisition Plans, Systems Engineering Plans, WCPs, ICPs, Mission Technical Baselines (MTBs), Integrated Capabilities Technical Baselines (ICTBs), CONOPS/CONEMPS, Ship Change Documents (SCDs) and Advance Planning Documents. Establish a comprehensive list of all interdependent platforms and systems. Provide support to incorporate existing or planned aircraft programs in order to assess their impact on ship design. Analyze ship aviation related C4I requirements, including interfaces and information products and services exchanged between the aviation and ship systems (communications, data links, and information systems) for mission planning and execution, support and training.
- Review, update and/or develop Advanced Planning tools to assess impacts of programming decisions across multiple resource sponsors and measure progress at achieving mission capabilities to the Fleet.
- Interface with program POCs on an ongoing basis to gain insight into engineering and program changes and planning assumptions that may impact execution. Participate in program and system specific engineering and programmatic IPTs to stay abreast of issue identification and resolution.

Duties/Responsibilities
Research and analyze new or revised technical documentation and information concerning advances in military weapon systems and support systems technology. Design, develop, and prepare structured training manuals, presentation material, and courses of study related to the operation or maintenance of military weapon systems and support systems. PAX-16-015 Engineer/Scientist, Data Fusion
AM Pierce & Associates is in search for a candidate who has data fusion and related technical skills to support military and homeland security needs. Background in artificial intelligence and machine learning would be especially helpful. The work is characterized by problems for which technical precedents are lacking and/or insufficient. The problems are highly complex with divergent requirements. Solutions to these problems require innovative approaches drawing from a range of technical disciplines. The candidate will work with leaders and engineers throughout government and industry to develop new applications and products.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Critique technical design decisions to provide constructive recommendations to development efforts
- Provide analysis of design using engineering tools such as MATLAB and Excel
- Understands the purpose of data fusion algorithms and system and how to evaluate their performance
- Can relate data fusion algorithms and systems to mission need
- Understand the SETR (systems engineering technical review) process

PAX-16-016 Cyber Warfare Engineer
AM Pierce & Associates is in search for a candidate who has cyber warfare engineering and computer science technical skills to support military and homeland security needs. Focus is on platform (aircraft) information technology systems. Experience in cyber vulnerability or risk assessments preferred. Certified Ethical Hacker certification also preferred. Position would support NAVAIRSYSCOM or Naval Aviation platforms in assessing systems for vulnerabilities, developing solutions to identified vulnerabilities and support to solution incorporation. Location is Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland.

Job Description:
Position is for a Junior Engineering Technician that will support the Navy’s MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) program’s Integrated Test Team (ITT) as a Reliability and Maintainability Technician and Maintenance Monitor. The individual will assist the R&M team in collecting and analyzing maintenance data from maintenance evolutions as well as from maintenance systems such as NALCOMIS, OOMA, DECKPLATE, NAVFLIRs, etc.) in order to help instruct Fleet maintainers on how to repair the systems and equipment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Applies engineering techniques, principles, and precedents to test and evaluate Naval Aircraft, weapons systems or aircraft support equipment
- Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares and applies engineering, technical or maintenance specifications, policies, standards or procedures
- Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components
- Compiles, processes, reduces and analyzes engineering data, prepares technical reports, and presents results and recommendations
- Collects data and evaluate maintenance evolutions
- Creates Issue Concern and Event summary reports summarizing issues, concerns and processes witnessed while monitoring Triton maintenance evolutions
- Assists with the detection and documentation of possible reliability and maintainability issues
- Data mines and audits reports, such as IMPCA, MES, OOMA and paper maintenance reports, for uploading into the Universal Flight Test Database (UFTDB)
- Creates, updates, closes, scores and reviews monitor report for the Triton aircraft and NSIL
- Effectively communicate and elevate potential detrimental deficiencies for further evaluation
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions consist of an office environment as well as time observing maintenance evolutions on the hangar deck
- Potential travel to Palmdale, CA or other locations
- Overtime or night shift may be required to monitor certain maintenance evolutions
The successful candidate will have the education and experience below:
- A high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) graduate
- At least two years of general or practical experience in aircraft, weapons systems or aircraft support equipment.
- A basic understanding of aircraft operating principles, theory, skills and activities related to his/her area of technical specialty
- Aviation maintenance background (Aviation Electrician’s Mate (AE), Aviation Electronics Technician (AT), Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM), Aviation Machinist Mate (AD), etc.) is desirable
- Computer and Data Entry Skills
